I am 32 years old and YES I get Botox! Honestly, I wish I would have started sooner. When I say that I usually get one of two responses: “OMG, amazing! I do it too.” or “Can you tell me more about it? I really want botox!” Occasionally I get comments from Judgmental Janes who think I’m ridiculous and say “Ugh, that’s so fake.” or “You really don’t need it.” Regardless of any comments, it’s my face and I choose to do what makes me feel good about myself! Botox is amazing, it has changed my face in the best way possible and I’m writing this blog to give you gals wondering about it all the Botox details!
First, if you want to get Botox never let another persons opinion hold you back. Always do you!! That goes beyond a few shots to the face. If you want to do something that makes you feel better about yourself, you go for it sister! I am all about doing things to enhance my beauty along with preventing signs of aging. I really noticed a change in my skin after having Meadow. I swear the transition of being pregnant into motherhood significantly aged me. My skin just looked different. After a few conversations with girlfriends who get botox and encouragement, I decided to make my appointment. I was shocked by the results in the best way and that is when my love for Botox began.
Warning, once you get Botox you will not be able to stop. The results are incredible, you will love the way you look and will never go back. Your make-up will apply a lot more smoothly and elevate your look. No make-up, no problem! Your face will still have a smooth, flawless appearance. I always thought Botox was super expensive. However, it’s totally affordable. Typically each unit is between $11-$13. Every face is different so the number of units each person needs will fluctuate. I personally get between 25-39 units per session. I get it in my forehead, in the corner of my eyes and at the brow for a slight lift. Next session I am going to try adding some in my chin to eliminate the little bumps. Botox will last about 3-4 months depending on how your body absorbs it. In my opinion it’s 100% worth the investment.
It is extremely important to find a Botox professional that knows what they are doing and who understands and respects the results you want. Which leads me to introducing you to my girl and the best at Botox, Tori! Tori is a NP Aesthetic Injector. Below are the three most common Botox questions I get asked:
– Does Botox hurt?: Not really the needle is very small and feels like a slight pinch.
– Is Botox safe?: Botox is FDA approved. I am not a medical expert, but I do know it is safe. However if you are pregnant or breastfeeding you should not get Botox. Always disclose all medications and medical issues to your injector during Consultation to make sure there are no contraindications.
– When will results appear?: Typically in 3-5 days you start seeing the results but it can take up to 2 weeks.
Botox also helps with issues beyond reversing wrinkles and lines. Tori taught me it can also help with sweat prevention for under arms, hands and feet. Botox can also help those who struggle with migraines. I would also like to note Botox is acceptable for both men and women. If you have ever been interested in Botox I hope this blog post has helped shed some light on the experience. Thanks to Botox, I love the way my face looks. I believe everyone is beautiful the way they are and as long as you are happy that’s all that matters. However, if you are seeing lines and wrinkles that you want to disappear, give Botox a try!
Xo,
Joelle
